The Importance of Email Communication

In web hosting, email service often seems more important than web site hosting itself to many customers. In fact, the questions most asked to technical support teams are in regards to email problems varying from not being able to send or receive messages to having messages bounce back from various networks.

Issues with blacklistings are something we have great control over. Unlike many networks, we actively monitor spam reports from many organizations and take every single report very seriously. Imagine all of the Internet users who do not send in reports and instead block or delete unwanted mail. With that in mind, the few reports that we do receive are very predictive of much larger issues. For those few reports, that means that there are many, many more messages not being reported from that IP address.

A Clean IP Network

Keeping a close eye on email activities results in a clean IP network. This is most important to us and our main concern. At times when customers cancel their dedicated servers for various reasons, we will need to reuse those IPs at some point. There is a chance that the IPs may be blocked at some network. We keep the chance of this happening very low because we alert our customers of any reports we receive about their server. Whether a client has issues with mailing list complaints or a script has unknowingly been exploited to send out mail by a third party, we keep on top of these issues.

Our second concern of course is making sure that others are not burdened with spam.

Content Statement

We at believe in freedom of speech; however, any content (written, visual, or implied) in the following areas will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate suspension of service (in most cases customer will be allowed a zip file of their account): racism or prejudice due to color, creed, or belief; any violent/malicious/obscene content written, visual or implied. We will not tolerate any type of hate site including terrorist related websites on our network. If we receive notice that there is such a hate site hosted within our network, the customer hosting the material will be notified immediately. They are required to remove the content within a certain timeframe and if not, will face account suspension and/or termination.

We expect our clients to self-govern their content and to remain responsible and all-knowing of what their website publically provides. Even if other users have access to an account, our client remains responsible for their actions. The resources and time needed to govern our servers by checking each website individually (which have growing and evolving content) is impossible. However, if we are made aware of any questionable content within our network, we will address the concerns immediately and directly with our client to seek an amiable resolution. If any netizen contacts us about content they have found within the network that copyrights their own material or that they wish to be removed, we require legal documentation to take any further action.
